A Delay in Maturation as a Cause of Small Plaque Size with the NM Strain of Influenza A Virus
ثبت نشده
چکیده
Two influenza A viruses, neurotropic NWS and its recombinant NM are capable of forming plaques on BHK21 cells. NWS plaques are larger than NM plaques. The small plaque size of NM virus is related to a slower rate of increase of NM than NWS virus during many cycles of infection, not to inhibition by the non-cellular environment. The slow increase could be accounted for by a delay in the formation of infectious NM virus in each cycle accompanied by a simultaneous delay in release. The synthesis of NM virus is accompanied by a large quantity of unassembled or unstable noninfectious haemagglutinin; the synthesis of NWS virus yields assembled infectious haemagglutinin predominantly.

Construction of Influenza A/H1N1 Virosomal Nanobioparticles
Background and Aims: Influenza is one of the main respiratory infections of humans, responsible for 300,000–500,000 annual deaths world-wide. Vaccination is one of the best ways to prevent infections including influenza. Influenza virosomes are virus-like particles, which retain the cell binding and membrane fusion properties of the native virus, but lack the ribonucleoprotein (RNP). A vi...
متن کاملPhylogenetic Comparison of Influenza Virus Isolates from Three Medical Centers in Tehran with the Vaccine Strains during 2008-2009
Background: Influenza virus is a major infectious pathogen of the respiratory system causing a high degree of morbidity and mortality annually. The worldwide vaccines are decided and produced annually by World Health Organization and licensed companies based on the samples collected from all over the world. The aim of this study was to determine phylogenecity and heterogenecity of the circulati...
متن کاملMonitoring virus harvesting time in embryonated chicken eggs inoculated with avian influenza H9N2 vaccine strain
Knowledge of virus and replication kinetic is one of the most important issues in the vaccine production. The present study aimed to evaluate the best harvesting time of H9N2 avian influenza virus (AIV) vaccine strain inoculated in specific pathogen free (SPF) embryonated chicken eggs (ECE)s. For this purpose, 10-5 dilution of AIV (A/Chicken/Iran/99/H9N2) was inoculated into 336, 11-day old ECE...

In order to adapt LaSota strain of Newcastle disease virus (NDV) on chick embryo fibroblast (CEF) cells, 0.1 ml from LaSota vaccine produced in Razi vaccine and serum research institute inoculated to the CEF cells and was passaged five times in the CEF grown in Eagle’s minimum essential medium (MEM). First to third passages were blind but in fourth passage cytopathic effect of virus was observe...
